CRATCH
SCULPTURE AND TRAVELING PROJECTION DEVICE - 2016-2018

Cratch is a reference to early travelling cinema: both a sculpture and a projection device, the work can be dismantled, moved and reinvented according to the spaces in which it is presented. This structure, which contains the Smars video, unfurls like an archetypal space capsule that has pierced the exhibition space and run aground. This environment constrains the bodies of spectators, who must bend their spines to enter the capsule and discover the film, thus becoming actors in the installation themselves.

Cratch fait référence aux premiers cinéma itinérants : à la fois sculpture, et dispositif de projection, l’oeuvre démontable, se déplace et se réinvente en fonction des espaces ou elle est présentée. Cette structure, qui contient la vidéo Smars, se déploie comme un archétype de capsule spatiale qui aurait troué l’espace d’exposition pour s’y échouer. Cet environnement contraint les corps des spectateurs, qui doivent courber l’échine pour entrer dans la capsule et découvrir le film, en devenant ainsi eux-mêmes des acteurs de l’installation.
